Yee haw: Norwich, Connecticut's Cowboy Muffler Man

An unassuming strip mall in the southeastern Connecticut town of Norwich is the unlikely home of a towering fiberglass cowboy, perched between Eblens casual clothing store and the Surplus Unlimited. Surplus Unlimited adopted the cowboy as its logo and had him painted on the sides of a large truck parked in front of the store when we visited last summer. Bravo to them for having such a cool incongruent corporate mascot. Great deals on flashlights, too.

Thanks, Richard. I've seen a couple of 'em in Connecticut.

G&S -

Man, you DO get around.

And, your photography (in my opinion) is getting better.

I think you should consider making the images on your site larger, so that we can appreciate the detail (and often scale) of the objects that you show us.

Great work documenting America.

Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. I'm on the fence about how large to make the photos. On the one hand, it'd be nice to have them big. On the other , will someone steal them and use them somewhere else? And do I care? Decisions, decisions... but thanks again!
